I draw things, I make things and I move things. I'm trying to be getting better at getting better.
Petal. No re-drawing this one.
It’s been a while.
About a month ago, the guys over at YCN studio asked me to do some spot illustrations for the Green Man Festival programme, and here is how it ended up looking. I feel pretty chuffed to have my scratchy drawings sat amongst Sarah Mazzetti's beautiful illustrations, and the extra perk of heading off to the stunning Brecon Beacons in Wales for great music and good food was not half bad either.
New sketchbook scans.
It’s good to look back and see terrible ideas and the forgotten good ones, but I’ve been a bit slack with this one with shows and graduation.
I’ve also realised I draw a lot of trees. A lot.
Some old sketchbook updates.
The first 3 pages of a short comic I did, that forms a part of my show.
My Long Form piece for the Eyra exhibition in full. (right click, open in new tab for full size)
Yesterday me and my classmates finished hanging up our show. After seeing it being done by the other years, it was a surreal experience to be the ones in their position, and now it’s done! Three years of work culminating in two days of banging, hammering, nails, drills, spirit measures, tape.
Our Brighton studio show will be open on the 1st of June to the public, come sea, come see!
I made an abstract comic for the new online Eyra exhibition 'Long Form' which you can check out now. There’s a great bunch of artists on there!
My cover design for Wind in the Willows. I didn’t really know what to with the text, so stayed pretty safe. It’s not a very traditional cover, but I wanted to show the stranger, mystical side of the story and have fun warping the usual depiction of the characters.
